Hairstrokes and Microblading
Microblading is a procedure done with a very small knife-like instrument to mimic natural brow hair. This technique will often not retain as long as other techniques and can be very dependent upon skin type. Hairstrokes can also be achieved by machine -often called 'Nano Brows'--which is less traumatic to skin than Microblading. NOTE: Oily or mature skin requires special consideration for any hair stroke technique. Depending upon how oily or delicate the skin, results could fade faster, potentially require more touch ups or not retain well. Over time, the strokes might blur (become less "crisp") on skin that is not ideal for hairstroke technique. So what to do if you have oily skin? Shading or a combination of strokes and shading may be a better option!
Shaded brows (also called powder brows, powder fill, Ombre brows) is a technique for clients who prefer fuller results than hair strokes provide, but still want a softer look. This technique can range from very soft to bold: it is designed to mimic brow makeup done with eyebrow pencil or shadow. The tails of the brow are usually darker and fade lighter toward the beginning and/or of the brow, creating the softer effect. Some clients prefer a bolder look with more dense shading. Shading techniques are perfect for oilier skin or clients with larger pores. It is also ideal for clients with existing brow hair: the technique creates an illusion of more hair and can often look very natural.
Shaded or Powder Brows
Shading techniques used in combination with hairstrokes can create a more dense, full brow look. This is a good option for many people: those with oily or combination skin; those with little to no eyebrow hair; those with very delicate skin; those who use pencil or powder makeup on their brows. This is the better option for oily skin, but hairstrokes or microblading (done in brow head) still may not retain well. The denser look is created by combining the hair like strokes with a shading technique that implants hundreds of tiny dots between the hairs to create the fuller look. This can create a very natural look which can be adjusted and customized during your appointment.
Combination Brows: Hairstrokes & Shading
Options can be customized to create an ideal look ranging from subtle to dramatic. A "lash enhancement" is the most subtle option which involves pigment placed only at the lash line at the very base of lashes--it looks very natural and will make lashes appear darker and fuller. Traditional eyeliner gracefully enhances the eyes with just a moderate amount of visible color above the lash line and can be top/bottom or both. A more dramatic look can be acheived with a thicker or extended (wing) eyeliner. More advanced shading options are also available. Eyeliner can retain its color longer than other procedures.
EyeLiner
As we age, the contrast and definition of the lip vermillion border is often lost and overall color of the lips can fade. Beautiful lips can be re-created by redefining the vermillion border--emphasizing the lip outline makes the lips look fuller and fine lines around the mouth often appear softened. Corrections can also be made to thin or unsymmetrical lips and balancing the upper and lower lips. Adding full color to the lip results in a natural "blush" of color that appears more natural than lipstick. The color will remain during any activity (swim/sun/sweat/shower) and gives a more youthful look --without applying lipstick! The healed result is typically subtle blush of color.
Lip Color
Scar Camouflage &
Reduction
This procedure varies greatly based on the type of scar tissue--all require evaluation in advance to determine if the scar can be treated and the most appropriate technique to utilize. Corrective Pigment Camouflage involves tattooing of the skin with different colors of flesh tone pigments to disguise a scar or skin area that is missing pigment or color. Success is highly dependent upon the type of scar, where it is located and overall skin color. If scar is in a location exposed to sunlight, camouflage may not be an ideal treatent.
Skin needling treatments may be effective to improve the texture of scars & overall skin health--and sometimes the best option to reduce the appearance of scars. In most cases, treatment may take a several appointments—so you must have patience and be willing to spend the time to achieve the best results. An in-person consultation is necessary before proceeding to assess scar characteristics, skin health & condition, discuss desired end-result and review treatment options
3D Areola Micro-Pigmentation
Areola Repigmentation or Micropigmentation techniques can create the image of an areola after breast reconstruction, minimize the appearance of scars or restore an areola to a more natural looking color and shape. Areola and nipple tattoos are completely customized: we work with you to select the placement, shape, and size. We also work with you to select and create a customized color that will look the most natural for you. Our Areola restoration tattoos are 3 dimensional, with strategic placement of color and shadow to create the visual image of a protruding nipple. The successful and natural building of color may take a few appointments to achieve the desired look. In most, but not all instances, a follow-up appointment may be required every 3-5 years. An in-person consultation is necessary before proceeding to assess skin health & condition, discuss desired end-result and review treatment options.
