A lot has transpired both personally and professionally since my last blog...I've thought a lot about new beginnings and starting over and how to capture the craziness of the last several years. I sold a house, bought a house, launched into remodeling for a year and then moved in. Just a little bit of work, lol...I transitioned from living nearly 35 years on the west side of metro area to a great new spot on the east side of metro with my long-term partner (Brad) and awesome dog (Jagger)--we are all loving the "country life" in Grant (just east of Stillwater). Wildlife abounds in our backyard where we regularly see deer, owls, wild turkeys, eagles, fox and the occasional bear. Brad started building his 'dream garage' and I began working on the landscaping to improve outdoor spaces and planted a bloom-filled new flower garden. We have space, privacy and wonderful neighbors--life is good!
As this was all unfolding, I was searching for the perfect spot to relocate Lasting Impression. I formed an alliance with a MedSpa (Inner Swan) and we decided to co-lease a space together. I was able to and re-open & license Lasting Impression in May of 2023 --in a great new Lake Elmo location! The space is convenient, easy to find and has and a spa-like vibe with wonderful greenery & fountain as you enter the building. My studio space has ample room and lots of wonderful natural light (a great thing for cosmetic/medical tattoo!) I love the space which has become a perfect spot to re-initiate my business and hope to be there many years.
Throughout this time, I continued to learn & study new techniques for Nano Brows, Lip Blush, Scar Camouflage, Stretch Marks, Dark Scars and Areola. I have always been drawn to Medical Tattoo and felt it was truly rewarding work--especially 3D Areola. I have been doing Areola Tattoo since 2019, but really wanted to take my skills & learning to the next level.....and then a unique opportunity presented itself: Mentorship with Sauler Institute for Medical Tattoo https://www.saulerinstitute.com I was one of 10 people chosen nationally to embark on a 6 week deep dive into Areola and Medical tattoo with one of the leading Medical Tattoo Artists in the country: Mandy Sauler. This was an incredible experience which gave me new skills and renewed enthusiasm to tackle the daunting task of networking within the medical system. In March 2024, with some new support materials and a LOT of determination, I dove in with the intent to share this service with the local medical community.
What I have found is that once you truly commit and 'dedicate' yourself to a path or cause, things will begin to shift and flow in a supportive direction. Doors begin to open, opportunities start to come your way, people who can help materialize, and clients who YOU can help start to find you. Magical, indeed.
